We were thrilled to team up with environmental/animal activist and race car driver Leilani Münter to showcase the Vegan Powered Race Car. The first ever vegan-themed race car!
The car and nine days of vegan food samples premiered at the 2017 Daytona International Speed Week. The event attracted hundreds of thousands race fans... kicking off with Leilani's race The Clash At Daytona and culminating with the Daytona 500.
A generous foundation funded the car and exhibit area, while A Well-Fed World helped supply nine days of vegan food samples and handouts, along with vegan athletes: bodybuilder, Robert Cheeke, and professional football player, David Carter.
It was such a success, that we expanded our partnership to include Talladega. Then multiple races in the 2018 season followed with the updated Vegan Strong Race Car campaign.
A climate advocacy group sponsoring a race car?
Seems counterintuitive until you consider the massive impact of diet change.
Just 15 people swapping one meat-and-dairy meal per week for a plant-based one can offset the car’s fuel emissions in under a year. And if just one person adopts a fully plant-based diet, the offset happens in about seven months.
Small shifts, big ripple. That’s the power of everyday choices.
