About the Books
A Well-Fed World’s concept of rethinking meat stems from the 2001 published thesis of Founding Director Dawn Moncrief.
Rethinking Meat – Recentering World Hunger Paradigms (2001) is being revised and updated to be published as a 2nd edition book for informed audiences concerned about hunger, global food security, the environment, and the consequences of increasing global meat consumption–especially on women and children in low-income countries. Standpoint theories are emphasized.
The follow-up publication, Meat Bias in a Hungry World: Reframing Food Scarcity, Distribution and Waste will tackle questions of the long-time debate between scarcity vs. distribution, with an emphasis on the role of meat as a form of food redistribution and overconsumption. The impact of food waste and biofuels will also be addressed.
