DRAFT – INPUT PHASE
ABOUT
This is a designated fund to provide increased resources to vegan/animal advocacy groups led by women and/or gender-nonconforming activists (GNA).
PRIORITIES
Priority is given to groups:
- that are small to medium-sized and/or under-resourced (guideline is < $250K)
- led by women of color
- led by women/GNA who are public facing
STRATEGY
Initial strategy:
- secure a matching grant from one or more donors ($50K+)
- start with a specific kick-off goal with matching grant as inspiration, but maintain fund going forward
- use Facebook to solicit individual donations (including ads with fees covered by AWFW)
- possibly use distinct fundraising platform and/or monitor progress on this webpage
- probably no gifts, but perhaps relevant book or drawing in the short-term
- initial grants at $5,000(?)
- after first 10(?) grantees are chosen by fund committee, those grantees help decide the matching grant distributions (?)
- groups are listed online (?) — just listed with links or with summaries and/or photos (?)
- funds are collected online through AWFW’s donation page using the program drop-down menu or by check.
- AWFW manages the fund, but is not eligible and does NOT take a percentage. 100% is distributed.
