Abolition of Meat

The team of volunteers behind the Abolition of Meat create the demand for meat reduction throughout the world. The group promotes The World Weeks for the Abolition of Meat (WWAMs) as an opportunity to start political conversations regarding their mission.


Advocates For Animals

AWFW's grant to Advocates For Animals assists them in their vegan outreach efforts. They offer festival patrons vegan dessert as a message of compassion for animals.  The grant funds the transport and cooling of their ice cream, as well as purchases their health permit and other supplies for their outreach.


Animal & Environmental Care - India

Animal & Environmental Care Organization (AENCO) serves the causes of animal welfare & environmental protection. As a charitable organization, AENCO advances the principles of knowledge and quality assurance essential to human, animal and environmental health.


Animal Protection Rescue League

The Animal Protection and Rescue League is a nonprofit organization exposing the realities of animal cruelty, conducting innovative outreach campaigns, and influencing policy reform on behalf of animals. 


Ethiopian Vegan Association

The Ethiopian Vegan Association is a new public society founded by individuals from differing backgrounds dedicated to serving Ethiopian communities - and all beings - through a healthy, compassionate, and eco-conscious vegan diet.


Federation of Indian Animal Protection Organization

The Federation of Indian Animal Protection Organizations (FIAPO) unites animal organizations and builds a unified front for animals in India.  By acting as an umbrella for other groups, FIAPO builds a valuable support structure promoting a powerful message geared toward policy and legislation.


Help Animals India

Help Animals India (HAI) is an all-volunteer charity supporting efficient and effective animal protection organizations in India. Despite some of the best animal protection laws in the world and a renowned heritage of reverence for life, modern India is a country where millions of animals suffer. 


Indian Vegan Society

The Indian Vegan Society promotes a lifestyle in harmony with nature including a 100% plant based diet. IVS spreads kindness with school visits, newspaper articles, public talks, vegan music and other events.


International Vegetarian Union

The International Vegetarian Union is a global network of independent organizations promoting vegetarianism worldwide. The IVU encourages the formation of other vegetarian organizations and develops cooperation between them.

 


Jungle Friends Sanctuary

Jungle Friends' "Volunteers to Vegans" combines a primary mission of helping primates and promoting a vegan lifestyle. When volunteer groups come to the sanctuary, their hard work is rewarded with a scrumptious vegan meal.


Kairos Coalition - Vietnam

The coalition supports experimental humane education initiatives in developing countries. Focusing on Vietnam, the coalition coordinates a number of outreach programs engaging and inspiring youth to become active agents of social change in their area.


Liberia Animal Welfare Society

The Liberia Animal Welfare Society (LAWS) serves the animals of Liberia. Their organization promotes protection, prevents cruelty and alleviates suffering. Their outreach efforts inform the public on the need to respect animals, wildlife and the environment. 


Neighbors Opposed to Backyard Slaughter

Concerned community members in Oakland have come together to oppose a city policy that would allow for livestock animals to be raised and slaughtered in their city. Animal "farms" could be permitted in backyards or on abandoned lots around the city.  


Open the Cages Alliance

Open the Cages Alliance is a nonprofit organization in Baltimore, MD exposing and ending animal cruelty and promoting compassionate, healthy and environmentally responsible living through public awareness projects and targeted campaigns.


Tanzania Animal Welfare Society

Tanzania Animal Welfare Society alleviates animal cruelty and spreads animal welfare awareness in Tanzania.  By focusing on local production and accessibility of vegetables, TAWESO hopes to reduce the demand for animals as food sources. 


Tibetan Volunteers for Animals

Tibetan Volunteers for Animals (TVA) is a registered non-govt. and non-profit organization run and managed by a group of young Tibetans determined to make a difference.


Vegan Students Association of Togo

The Vegan Students Association of Togo is a student run organization out of the University of Lome, Togo.  The association participates in several veg related events including International Meat Out Day.  The students provide plant-based alternatives to expose peers to meat free options.


Vegetarian Association of Ghana

The Vegetarian Association of Ghana provides their community with the best possible information on vegetarian and vegan living.  The association recently renovated a reference library on the premises of Assase Pa., Ghana's original vegetarian restaurant.


Vegetarian Society of DC

Vegetarian Society of the District of Columbia (VSDC) was founded in 1927 and is the nation's oldest continuously operating vegetarian society. VSDC works with educational programs such as the Eat Smart Campaign and hosts annual events such as Vegetarian Thanksgiving and DC VegFest.


Vegetarians of Central Florida

This all volunteer advocacy group organizes both Central Florida Earth Day and Central Florida VegFest. They also gather for bi-weekly pot lucks and hold bake sales in the hopes of pushing forward and promoting vegan eating. 


Viva Veggie Society

Based in New York City, The Viva Veggie Society prints and distributes the book, "101 Reasons Why I'm A Vegetarian."  The Viva Veggie Society also organizes the annual New York Veggie Pride Parade. 


Sanctuaries

Animal Sanctuary (FTMP)

The Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition (FMPT) is an international, non-profit organization, founded in 1975 by Lama Thubten Yeshe (1935-84), a Tibetan Buddhist monk.  The Animal Liberation Sanctuary is a project being created near Kopan monastery in Nepal. The object of the sanctuary is to house animals that were to be killed so that they may live out the natural course of their lives in peace and gain a higher rebirth.


Eastern Shore Chicken Sanctuary

Eastern Shore Chicken Sanctuary recently relocated to Vermont but still provides a safe haven for hens, roosters, ducks... and now cows who have either escaped or been rescued from abusive circumstances.


International Society for Cow Protection

International Society for Cow Protection (ISCOWP) is a non-profit farm sanctuary and education center located in West Virginia. The 165 acre farm is home to a herd of over 20 protected cows and includes a large garden which provides vegetarian meals to the farm residents and members.


Peaceful Prairie Sanctuary

Located in Deer Trail, Colorado, Peaceful Prairie Sanctuary is home to hundreds of animals that have been rescued from the meat, egg and dairy industry. In addition to the care they provide to all their residents, Peaceful Prairie engages in vegan advocacy as a means to reduce the amount of animal suffering on today's factory farms. 


Poplar Spring Animal Sanctuary

The Poplar Spring Animal Sanctuary is the closest farm animal sanctuary to the Washington, DC metro area. It spans 400 acres of protected habitat and is a refuge for rescued animals.


Visakha Society for Protection and Care of Animals

Visakha Society for Protection and Care of Animals (VSPCA) provides sanctuary for more than 600 cows in India. Their unique program not only rescues animals in need, but also provides energy and to the local community by transforming some of their waste/dung into biogas.


Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary

Surrounded by the majestic Catskill Mountains, Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary provides shelter to cows, pigs, chickens, turkeys, ducks, sheep, and goats who have been rescued from cases of abuse, neglect and abandonment.
